Featured Charter Barges In the European Bike and Barge Tours
Charter barges used for all tours and charters are almost all owner/operated. The Dutch owners typically have been contracting to take the same tours for many years. The owner operators love what they do – this is their life and livelihood. They are extremely proud of their vessels and are expert seamen. Tour barges all meet the highest standards on the Dutch waterways for cleanliness, maintenance and passenger satisfaction.
Barges are by necessity small, compact and efficient.
- Comfort and Comfort Plus barge cabins are arranged with two twin beds each.
- Standard and Convenient barge cabins are arranged with two or more berths to a cabin- usually a bunk/rack type arrangement. All amenities are easily accessible.
- All barge cabins have private bathroom facilities in each cabin.
Most barges are available for charter. Charter barges accommodate parties of 8-40 passengers: families, friends, clubs, businesses, workshops, etc. Most require a minimum 16 passengers to be cost effective for you. Groups requesting a barge for private charter should inquire at least a year in advance.
We provide bicycles, your tour guide and tour materials and a cook for all meals. All barges include at least two crew members plus a bicycle guide. When chartering certain larger barges you may select certain options such as no tour guide or only certain meals.
